Q: What is CineAsia?

A: CineAsia is the only international convention dedicated to the Asian motion picture exhibition and distribution community. CineAsia screens major Asian and Hollywood films and presents an educational program on issues affecting the Asian cinema exhibition industry. CineAsia also honors Awards of Distinction to Asian film stars and industry luminaries.

The major elements of CineAsia are:

Q: Where is CineAsia held?

A: CineAsia is held at the Wynn Macau and Macau tower in Macau in December.

Q: Why did CineAsia move from Beijing to Macau?

A: The CineAsia management team completed a trip to Asia where they met with the cinema exhibition community in five countries to get the pulse of the industry, not only find out what our attendees want at CineAsia, but also where it should be held. The overwhelming response was that CineAsia should move to Macau. Macau offers easier access from other Asian countries than Beijing and provides an exciting and rich venue for CineAsia.

Q: Is CineAsia open to the public?

A: No, CineAsia is a trade event for companies the movie theatre industry.

Q: How do I register for CineAsia?

Q: Is there a cost to attend CineAsia?

A: Yes, there is a cost to attend CineAsia and there are different options. We suggest you choose the Full Registration Package so you have complete access to all of the exciting features of CineAsia. Please visit the CineAsia Registration page for details.

Q: I run a small theatre in Asia, and even though I would like to attend CineAsia, how can I justify the expense and the time that would need to be spent away from my theatre?

Q: When will the Schedule of Events be posted on the CineAsia website?

A: The Schedule of Events for CineAsia is posted on the website closer to the show so that we can provide you with the most accurate information possible. Much of the show's content, such as the film screenings, are provided by the movie studios, and they are subject to change. The Schedule of Events is updated weekly on the website, so please bookmark the Schedule of Events page and check back often.

Q: My company may be interested in exhibiting at CineAsia. How do I know if my products are a good fit and if they will be successful in Asia?

A: CineAsia is an excellent opportunity for your company to break into the Asian movie theatre industry.
